Have Creativity, You Must

Last week's post was all about colors. You saw how the brands' logos are somehow related to the meaning of the colors. This week, we're going to talk about creativity. Two weeks ago, we talked about how we can mix something established with the preferences of what the people want to see. If you look back to that post, you'll see an image of how Wolverine was redesigned for the Marvel fans in the East.

So... What's up doc?

In the business world, you have to get those creative juices flowing. Again, never hesitate to ask for help from experienced people and advisers like Terry Powell.

It's good to mix and match things, but you have to remember that there are some things that can't jive together. Let's take Todd McFarlane's Spawn as an example. Comic book fans know that Spawn is an anti-hero who hunts down gangs and fights organized crimes. Can you think of a way to make him look kid-friendly?

Think of elements that you can easily mix together to gain a larger market. Let's go classic, shall we? Remember that cartoon called ProStars from DiC Entertainment? They created a cartoon that featured Michael Jordan, Bo Jackson, and Wayne Gretzky as crime fighters. That's sports icons + entertainment for kids for you. Another example for that formula is Space Jam, which also featured Michael Jordan.

Think of these combinations. It's okay to be creative, but you have to take note of how much creativity you can put in your idea. There's a limit to that, too. Well, the ideas may be endless, but you can't use all of them, right?
