Businesses that can survive any Economy!

During these trying times, when almost all the economies in the world are struggling, starting your own business seems impossible and unthinkable. But starting a business just depends on one's mindset and determination. If you are confident and are willing to take the risks, why don't you go for it? According to Terry Powell, Founder and CEO of FranchisEsource Brands International, always start with a great idea and hire the most capable people.

Here are a few suggestions:

1. Freelance Writing - This is good if you enjoy writing and you don’t want to be stuck to a desk all day. Small businesses tend to hire freelance writers for their press releases and written materials.

2. Repairing Business - If you love taking things apart and putting them back together again, then this would be a good business opportunity for you. Technical skills are always in demand, and people are more likely to avail of your services, as getting an item repaired is cheaper than buying a new one.

3. Web Design - Designing websites has grown in significance with the birth of the digital age. Many businesses hire web designers to create web pages advertising their products and services.

4. Blogging - writing an online diary on different topics is an emerging trend and it is very profitable. You just have to think of an interesting niche that people would like to hear about such as traveling, food, fashion etc. Also, build a good enough number of readers to attract paid advertisements.

5. Selling Used Books - Reading books will never get old, despite the invention of E-book readers and tablets.  Shopping at yard sales, books stores and flea markets can get you some of the best books used books. After which, you can sell these for a sizable profit.

These are just some suggestions for a new start up business. The slow economy is never a reason to be afraid of starting your own enterprise. Finding the suitable product or service for the right market can determine the success of your business, no matter the condition of the economy.
